INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF THE LIVER
IASL is one of the oldest international organizations in the fight against liver and biliary tract diseases. It was established in 1958, aiming for the training of experts in hepatology and to encourage basic and clinical research. This included facilitating internationally the prevention, recognition, and treatment of diseases of the liver and biliary tract.
MISSION
Establish, maintain, sponsor, promote activities, programs, and projects which assist in the education of clinicians and scientists in an international context,
Foster and promote, in an international context, basic and clinical research into the liver and biliary diseases,
Collaborate with its continental constituent association members and other healthcare organizations concerned with liver disease, and
Facilitate progress toward the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the liver and the biliary tract.
AIM
Foster the training of experts in hepatology,
Encourage basic and clinical research on the liver and its diseases, and
Facilitate internationally the prevention, recognition, and treatment of diseases of the liver and the biliary tract.
ACTIVITIES
Organize international study groups: encourage the exchange of research workers and study materials and information
